Pittsburgh -- (August 15, 2013) Latino Day is the newest ethnic day to join the annual Nationality Days at Kennywood Park. In partnership with Kennywood, the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (PMAHCC) announced that Saturday, September 14th, 2013 will be the Latin community’s First Annual Kennywood Latino Day! This marks the beginning of the Hispanic Heritage Month (9/15-10/15).
Kennywood’s gates open at 10:30AM, with rides and attractions starting at 11:00AM. Friends and family can enjoy ethnic food available for purchase from Las Palmas Tacos, La Palapa (Mexican), Gaucho Argentinean, Casa Rasta Caribbean, and AJ’s Peruvian Cuisine in Pavillion 4. Music, dancing and cultural performances, organized by the Latin American Cultural Union (LACU), can be enjoyed in Pavillion 5.
Give aways will be held throughout the day with prizes donated by the Pirates, Steelers, Pittsburgh Power, Mundo Sports, Mery’s , Chicken Latino, among others.
Designated a national landmark in 1987, Kennywood has created memories for generations for more than 110 years.
